It may be DBYS Opening Day, but it also Picture Day!!!
All pictures will be taken at Hill Road Fields ( Click Here for Map) before and after opening day ceremonies. You can get your picture forms from you daughter's coach.

Next Tuesday, March 16th - 6:30pm Amity Intermediate Center (AIC) - DBYS softball meeting
COACHES:
- If you can not attend, please send your assistant...Equipment will be handed out at this meeting.
- ALL 10U / 12U CALENDARS FOR BERKS LEAGUE SHOULD BE HANDED IN AT THIS MEETING!
Next Thursday, March 18th - Berks (BCGSL) Meeting : not mandatory - but all coaches are welcome to attend!!

Thanks to everyone who came to the Softball meeting this evening to voice their opinion and place their vote as to which league our girls will play in this Spring (2010)!
After a few topics of debate, votes were cast and the majority of the votes placed were in favor of keeping our girls in the Berks League (vs. moving play back to Tri-County). Thanks again to everyone who came out to help make this league decision!
Also - EXCITING NEWS! It was also decided at this meeting that DBYS will form a committee to put together and oversee our very own 16U Travel Team for as early as this upcoming Spring season! We'll keep you posted and have more details on this initiative soon! If you are interested in helping establish parameters for this proposed travel team, please email Camille Hayes at cmon7@ptd.net or Traci Huddleson at tracihuddleson@hotmail.com. Great stuff in the works for our girls!
And - CONGRATULATIONS to our 12UA and 12UB girls who both won first place in their respective Berks League divisions! Each team was awarded a plague from the League that will eventually be displayed in our Lake Drive snack bar! Terrific job on a great season girls!
Just a reminder! Our next meeting is the October monthly meeting - scheduled for Tuesday, October 13th at 7:00 PM, under the Hill Road pavilion! Hope to see many of you there!

Don't put the bats and balls away just yet...
Registration for our 2009 Fall Ball season will take place on the following dates and times:
Saturday, August 8th: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Hill Road Pavilion
Tuesday, August 11th: 6:00 to 7:30 PM, Hill Road Pavilion
Wednesday, August 19th: 6:00 to 7:00 PM, Hill Road Pavilion
The registration fee for 2009 Fall Ball is $50.00 per player, due at registration.
Fall Ball is open to young ladies playing 10U and up - with games being played at our Township and Lake Drive Fields.
Fall Ball was developed to be a less-competitive, more instructional league for players working to hone in on their batting, fielding and pitching skills! Teams will practice 1-2 nights per week, with weekend games.
The Fall Ball season will begin shortly after Labor Day and run through the end of October! And yes, many kids have played both Fall soccer and Fall Softball at the same time! The schedule may keep you busy, and there may be some overlap in practices and games - but, in the past, many kids have successfully done both programs at the same time! Whatever you decide - good luck and have a fun Fall season! |

Open softball practices for all 10U players will begin this Friday (6/26) and be held every Friday during the summer from 5:45 to 8 Pm at Township Fields (see the Fields page for directions). This is a great opportunity to keep the girls interested in softball until fall bal starts later this year. We will mainly be working on fielding and hitting skills during these practices.
If you know of any other girls who had been thinkning about playing softball and wanted to see what it's about, have them stop by. We'd love to have them join and see what we're all about! |

We have 5 tickets available to see the Philadelphia Force take on the Chicago Bandits at ECTB Stadium in Allentown, PA. Tickets are $10 each. DBYS Softball players will stand on the Infield with the Force for the sining of the National Anthem before the game!! Over 40 DBYS players and Family members will attending. The 14U Softball Schedules have been posted and can now be accessed by clicking the 14U Division link in the menu. On each calendar, clicking a specific event will show you details about the game/practice. you can also click on the "map" link in the event details to access a Google Map of the game/practice location. |
